What really put this in lesson in perspective was when i was going into High School. I had played field hockey in middle school for a year and i wanted to be on the team for Rancho. I tried out, and i didn't make it. I wasn't sad, and i didn't beat my self up about it because it wasn't that big of a deal to me. I just wanted to do it for fun . So, i ended up doing cross country, which is something i had also done in middle school. After fall, i did Water Polo with my friend Leah. We had fun and the coaches all said they wanted me to do swim because they saw a lot of potential. It was because i did cross country that i had good Cardio and could swim well. Then because i did Water Polo, the swim coaches told me to do swim. I went to swim and i fell in love! I truly do like it, and the best part is i am actually good at it. I liked to win, and to be good at something.
You would just have to understand that i was never the BEST player on the team, in all the sports i had done in the past i was always just okay. I have never been the star athlete. So when i did my first swim season i ended the season and got the award for the Most Valuable Player. I even got a plaque! So once i laid eyes on that plaque with my name on it i realized that swim was something i wanted to do for ever! Now, it is my goal to get good enough to go to B.Y.U. and be on their swim team! I just had tryouts to start my second season for swim yesterday. I got the email today and i am on the Varsity team for Rancho Buena Vista!
I am happy, and looking back at what would have happened if i made the field hockey team! I wouldn't have done polo, and i wouldn't have ever found swimming, and something i can hopefully excell in! So, i have no regrets. Everything happens for a reason!
